Graduate Engineer, Water Resources
Halff has an immediate opening for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Water Resources team in our Austin (South), TX office. The candidate must be able to successfully work on projects and work closely with our internal and external clients, perform flood risk education and planning, stormwater modeling, and design for private and public drainage infrastructure. Halff is seeking a skilled professional to work in a highly collaborative environment to create cost-effective, maintainable, and sustainable solutions for municipalities, governmental agencies and developers. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to build a long term career with Halff, contributing to meaningful infrastructure projects while growing professionally and personally—with potential for future ownership in the firm.

What you will do:

  • Support project teams in the design and analysis of water resources projects.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis.
  • Assist in the development of master drainage plans.
  • Prepare and review engineering documents and reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Support other practices such as Public Works, Transportation, and Land Development for stormwater and drainage related tasks.

What you will need:

  • 0-4 years in water resources/public works. Resume projects should attempt to demonstrate experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, watershed modeling, channels design, storm drain analysis and design, and master drainage planning
  • New grads are encouraged to apply.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree.
  • Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or plan on obtaining before start date, with a goal of obtaining Texas PE license.
  • Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS Pro.
  • Familiarity with XP-SWMM, InfoWorks ICM.
  • Robust written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, self-directed yet a team player, with a focus on quality, integrity and success.
